HISTORY

  • 1992: Matica was founded in Milan and initially operated as a distributor of metal plate embossers and cutting machines
  • 1996: Matica began to produce and sell metal plate embossing systems and cutting machines
  • 2000: Matica expanded its focus towards producing plastic card personalization systems
  • February 2002: Kaitech acquired (51 per cent of) Matica and an intensive research and development programme was launched for the production of card issuing and card mailing systems
  • March 2006: Kaitech acquired (the remaining 49 per cent of) Matica
  • In April 2006 Matica acquired Fractalos Card Labs, an Italian company specialized in designing and engineering card personalization modules for high performance systems
  • June 2006: Matica acquired Digicard GmbH, an Austrian company that invented and patented the “thermal printing technology”
  • 10 April 2007: Matica began trading on the AIM market of London Stock Exchange plc.
  • 2007: Matica closed the Digicard office in Wien and moved all the production and warehouse to the manufacturing plant in Paderno Dugnano (Milan). The Company has maintained only an engineering department in Salzburg: DIGICARD ENGINEERING G.m.b.H.
  • Currently, company offices are in Milan, Bologna (Italy) and Salzburg (Austria).










     
Metropolitan Police
